History
Project Kampfire has a rich history rooted in community and service. It began as a community service project of the Kiwanis Clubs of Calgary, created to provide opportunities for youth to experience the joys of summer camp and outdoor education. Originally named Kamp Kiwanis, the initiative grew over the decades, expanding its reach and impact while staying true to its mission of empowering young people.
In recent years, we evolved into Project Kampfire, embracing a renewed vision and broader focus. The new name reflects our ability to extend beyond a single location, allowing us to reach more communities and create transformative experiences for youth wherever they are. Today, we continue to build on that foundation, fostering connection, growth, and belonging for all participants.
